KitchenAid Mixer Birthday Gift

It has arrived! I asked for this KitchenAid mixer for my birthday back in late April. The mixer had been on sale at Costco, and so we ordered it online. It took a while before it was delivered, as apparently it was a popular item.

Now, I don’t usually ask for household items for gifts. But, maybe it’s all the time at home lately or maybe the red appealed to me, but I decided it could be a fun and helpful addition to our home.

However, to be honest, I am a bit overwhelmed. So, before I do anything, I plan to read the manuals because just looking at the different pieces, I do not have any idea what they are used for!

This looks like a tree to me.
This could be deadly.

While I am intimidated, I assure you it will be used. I am too careful with money to purchase something that would go unused. Probably, the first thing I will make are chocolate chip cookies. After that, it will be a learning experience. I’ve joined 2 Facebook KitchenAid groups where there is a ton of love for these mixers and even more tons of recipes. Some people even name their mixers.

While I love the sweets, it’s all about balance, so I’ll be looking for other options to make as well. Maybe I will make some delicious dinner rolls or homemade pretzels for a tasty snack. I also saw a recipe for zoodles (from zucchini) which sounds wonderful to me; however, I believe I’ll need to purchase some attachment for this. I think it’s called a spiralizer, and the word on the street is it is able to peel, core and slice, too. I’m wondering what might it do at night when we are sleeping.

Is it just me, or does it look like an alien to you?

And yes, dear readers, I will report back once I give my new mixer a whirl. I am excited as I see this as a whole new way to be creative – as well as to eat and share some tasty food. I am, of course, happy to read any of your comments or suggestions. Maybe some of you will even share your favorite recipes.

That’s it for now. I’ve got some pamphlets waiting for me. Thanks for reading, and stay safe!

  1. Awesome 👏
I got a KitchenAid electric handheld mixer for Mother’s Day. Not quite as substantial as the stand mixer, but a fun kitchen tool nonetheless.
My dad makes pizza dough in his KitchenAid stand mixer and it’s delicious! I’ll get you his recipe… 🍕
    Happy cooking!

Press out dough and stretch it onto a pan as thin as you can!

  2. Oh that is awesome. My daughter has one and enjoys it. Most who have it love it sporting on the counter. I considered one but I’m not the baker and George does most of the cooking. When I DO BAKE, I’m always wishing I had one. lol. So I hope you enjoy it and share with us how it goes.

    • Thank you, and I will update when I bake something. It is very heavy, so I will use it where it is on the counter. Nice that George does most of the cooking!

    • That’s sounds like a good new toy policy! I will be making lots of chocolate chip cookies, and Dan eats 99% of the ones I make. So, it’s a good deal for him, too! Also, I can’t find yeast anywhere right now! Hopefully, I will find some soon. I hope you have a great day!

  3. I was also overwhelmed with mine! My teenage grandson was visiting after I unpacked it and he said, “here’s what you do” and proceeded to set it up and demo it to me. His mom had one and he was familiar with it. We mixed up a chocolate cake with it that very night

    • Thank you! I am so glad for someone to read my older posts! I put my heart into each one. I still enjoy the mixer. I regularly make chocolate chip cookies for Dan. Now that the weather is cooler, I plan to make more breads, etc. And camping will be over in October – until Spring, so I plan to use it more then. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day!
