I thought of another excuse to get myself into Dollar Tree. Ah, what I mean is, I needed something from the Dollar Tree. What I needed, I don’t remember, but I’m sure I needed it real bad. Once in there, I happened to check the Man Sock section, and lo and behold, I found these beauties!
Now how can these be man socks? So colorful, so bright and cheery. I had to get them. After all, I felt a personal connection. What would that be, you ask. Well . . . someday, I would love to attend the famous balloon festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico held annually each fall. The festival is called the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, and it is 9 days long. At least one of those days, I would wear these socks.
But, it won’t be this year, and maybe not even next year. There’s just so many places we want to visit. Hopefully, these are quality socks, and they will last until we get there. If you’ve been to the Balloon Fiesta, please feel free to leave any advice for me in the comments below.
Closer to home, and what could be a stop on our way to Michigan – our annual trip in July, is a balloon festival in Danville, Illinois. Last year was the 3rd annual festival, but, alas, it is cancelled for 2020. They are planning having the festival on July 9-10 in 2021. While not the size of the Albuquerque festival, with just 30 hot air balloons, the Danville festival offers tethered rides, music, a laser light show, classic car show, and more. It would be fun, and I could wear my new socks there, too. Dan and I have attended a yearly Scrabble tournament in Danville a number of times, and we have gotten to know some nice folks who live there.
I bet you wish you had a pair of balloon man socks, too. However, like many of the good deals at Dollar Tree, they go fast. These socks were the last pair at my Dollar Tree. Will they get more? I don’t know. From what I can tell, that’s up in the air! Ha ha ha!
Love your socks. Have been to Albuquerque years ago to the balloon festival. Loved it – it was spectacular.

Thank you, Peggy. I’m glad to know you’ve gone to the festival, and that it was spectacular. I imagine it’s going to take quite a bit of planning, but that can be fun, too. Have a good day!
