Thank you! This is at Charles Mears State Park in Pentwater, Michigan. A few steps from our campsite, there is a short hill, up a sand dune. There are trails and benches along the dune which overlook Lake Michigan. Each morning, I would go there, sit on a bench, and think or write or pray, for about 30 minutes. A true treat each morning! Enjoy your day!
We’ve been to a few different spots on Lake Michigan. When hubs drove semi, I’d hop in with him when I could get the time off work. Always enjoyed the drive through the UP.
I have been to the UP just once when I was growing up. I am hoping Dan and I will visit there sometime in the future. I especially want to see the Pictured Rocks area.
For a ‘wordless Wednesday’, that photo speaks a thousand of them! Stunning is the first one that comes to my mind.
Thanks for following Picture Retirement. Please stop over any time and get to know us. We have been busy moving lately and haven’t had time to post much. We hope to resume our retirement lifestyle and travels shortly.
I’ve visited Michigan in 2008 when I did a part tour of the states. I took hubby back in 2010 to visit a few states I missed.
I remember the lake. I thought my flight was going in the wrong direction before a fellow passenger explained it was a lake. phew. Could have been costly.
I took a ferry across Lake Michigan once. It takes 4 hours to cross, and when in the middle, you cannot see land. Glad you were going in the right direction! And I hope you enjoyed your visit to the states!
What a beautiful shot. I love the Great Lakes and need my daily dose of Lake Erie here. Lake Michigan and the UP’s Lake Superior are favorites I’ve visited. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! I look forward to reading your blog. Lake Michigan is a favorite of mine, too. I have been to Pancake Bay many years ago, but that’s the extent of my travels to the UP’s Lake Superior. Enjoy your day!
An impressive share! I have just forwarded this onto a coworker who was conducting a little homework on this. And he actually ordered me dinner simply because I discovered it for him… lol. So allow me to reword this…. Thanks for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending time to discuss this subject here on your internet site.

I should have realized there are no ocean views in Michigan.
