This cute character was a gift to me from my daughter, Talia.
When she gave it to me, she told me it was a Stumpkin.
But a few times, I forgot and referred to it as a Bumpkin.
She would say, “Mom, it’s a Stumpkin. A STUMPKIN. It’s made from a stump. Get it?”
Talia, if you are reading this, – and she does read my blog – you should stop reading right now.
Everyone else, please continue past the *****.

I could see how this aggravated her, so, just to have a little fun, I always refer to it as a Bumpkin.
This has been going on for years, and I still laugh inside each time I do it.
How do you like my Bumpkin?
Hehehehe
That’s nice

Thank you! We have a little side yard, and the Bumpkin sits out there and makes me smile all year. Have a good Friday!

I never heard of a Stumpkin, but then what do I know? I am just a country bumpkin from the sticks of northwest Texas…where the sticks are not large enough to make a Stumpkin if we had even heard of one. But I do love a little subterfuge and the hehehe. Happy Friday!

The only Stumpkin (I am conceding to you here – a one time thing just so you know) I have ever met is the one my daughter gave me. I don’t think they were massed produced. You might say it is the gift that keeps giving – smiles. 🙂 Enjoy your Friday!

Stump or bump? It’s the “kin” part that warms my heart. A mother is allowed to playfully irritate anyone to whom she has given birth.

Yes, David, you are right. The Bible instructs “Fathers, do not nag thy children lest they lose heart”, but this same instruction is not given for mothers. 🙂 Enjoy your Sunday!
