Neither of us can remember who gave it to Mike back in Florida, but it is here in Roatan. We went out to the storage locker last week and it just happened to be in one of the boxes we opened. I have a picture to show you now!
I love this carving! I remember, as a kid, pushing on the lever in the back to make his arms go up and down so he could take drinks from the bottle and bites of bread.
David, you have a very good memory. Yes, my dad made a number of wood carvings. It does remind me of some of the things he made. However, this is not one of them. It is a souvenir I bought when I toured Europe. I think it came from Italy. There is a lever on the back which makes the arms move. I bought another one as a gift. On that one, there were two people who turned and kissed when the lever was pulled down. My dad’s birthday is coming up, so I need to start thinking about his birthday post. Thanks for the reminder!
This is a decorative wine cork. I bought it when I was on my travels in Europe. It is a wine bottle, but only the top part of it shows. I was thinking you’d have something like this yourself.
So somehow I stopped getting email notifications of new blog posts for the blogs I’m following!! I’ve missed you so!! Now to catch up with reading your posts. 🙂
That has happened with me, too! I’m thinking it’s because I go too fast on the pages, but, in any case, it shouldn’t happen! It takes me a while to notice it, too! Thanks for coming back!
Oh my goodness, I have one of these! It is packed away in our storage locker but I’ll have it someday and show you! So cool.

Cool! Do you remember where you got it? So, it made it all the way to Roatan, or is it back in Florida?

I bought it on my tour of Europe in 1979. I think it came from Italy.

Did your father make this, Betty? It looks like his handiwork which you shared before.

A little bread, a little wine, and thou beside me in the wilderness…at least now I know what it is. This one stumped me. 🙂

I have several as a matter of fact, but not any European wooden carved ones. 🙂
