Hibiscus was one of my fave flowers in Texas. Unfortunately they can’t be grown here except in containers in summer. Our summers are plenty warm enough but they don’t survive our harsh winters. Love the photo, Betty!
I remember taking a photography course many years ago with my Nikon. Mine was an entry level DSLR camera. There were other attendees with thousands of dollars of camera equipment. The first thing the instructor said was, “It’s not the equipment that makes a good photograph- it’s the person behind the camera.”
It seems as if I might be the only person in the blogosphere who does not know what a hibiscus looks like, but at least now, I don’t have to say “What kind of flower is that?” It is a very red flower though. 🙂
Thank you. I love flowers, too. My husband thinks I put flowers on Wordless Wednesday too often. 🙂 It is not my planter, so I’m not sure about the light green leaves. However, they may be potato vine. Those grow really well here and are quite pretty.
Oh, I see. Potato vine sounds right. Just my opinion, but I don’t think there’s such a thing as too many flowers. I’d love to have one of those cottage gardens with the picket fence- flowers instead of grass.

Hibiscus haven’t even budded yet in CT. Thanks for reminding me how lovely they are.

Really, no hibiscus in Mississippi? It is very red, and I didn’t do any editing on the photo! Have a great day!

Very pretty. Flowers have such grace. What are the lighter green leaves? Do they go with the hibiscus?
