Hi Mary. These rocks are in Pentwater, Michigan at the end of the pier. For many years, there was some graffiti at the end of the pier that said, “Them is Mermaid Rocks.” Time and weather has finally worn those words off, but we still call them mermaid rocks.
Such a beautiful picture. Sort of says to me “Follow the light and you will have your dreams fulfilled”. Either that or you’re going to get awful wet when you step off the last rock! But I like the first better.
You’d be lucky to make it to the last rock! Those rocks are very slippery. You never see older people on them, just young kids. I like what it says to you. To me it says, “Another beautiful day in Pentwater comes to a close.” 🙂
You know, I didn’t think of it like that, but now that you put it that way…. it actually does look that way! These days, I guess you could say, it’s the “road less traveled.” 🙂
Love the photo, love Lake Michigan, and love that you are on your annual trip up north and that hopefully, it is cooler. You two and the whole family have a great time and remember those of us sweating down south. 🙂
Just share the cool [photos] when you can, but mostly live it in the moment!
Your comment means so much to me. Thank you for all your good wishes. It is cooler here, and yes, I will think of you all in Mississippi. Your advice – to live in the moment – is spot on. I may be slow on the blogging for a bit, but hopefully, I should be able to make up for it with new material. 🙂 Stay cool!
Step out on the rocks
Just beyond the water’s edge
Following the moon
Ps. If this isn’t moonlight, my little poem is toast.☺️

Can’t you just imagine mermaids on those rocks? The water is cold, but I guess mermaids don’t care.

Stunning! Made me think of an ancient road leading to a far away place now submerged below the sea.
