Thanks, Terry. What type of bug? A little bug! π I tried to figure it out, too, but I couldn’t tell. I took the picture in Missouri. So, my final answer is a little, Missouri bug. π Have a great day!
What a perfect photo Betty! Thanks to Gary’s hint and Wash U’s Missouri’s Natural Heritage web page on Bees of Missouri, the consensus is … Sweat Bee. Halictidae (sweat bees)
Thank you, Maggie! And how smart you are to refer to Wash U’s Missouri’s Natural Heritage web page on Bees of Missouri. I didn’t even know about that page! This makes perfect sense. We were in Greenville, Missouri when I took the picture. It was hot, and there were bees! π Thanks for the info, and I hope you have a great day!
I think it is a “sweat” bee. They can be green or blue with a little yellow, and they are apparently state wide in Missouri. It is certainly colorful against the flower!
Wow! Several of you readers are quite the detective! I took this picture using the macro option on my cell phone. Sometimes, my posts take me places I couldn’t have imagined. This is great! Thanks to you all! And bee kind to everyone. π Ha Ha. Just had to add that!
Love this shot, Betty! What type of bug is it?

Well, I didn’t notice that! Maybe everyone could just turn their computer upside down – or stand on their head. π Hope you have a great day!
